The Torah teaches patoach tiftach et yadcha — open your hand generously to someone in need. (Devarim 15:8) For one family right now, an open hand can mean help with the rent, the electric bill, or the cost of medical care.
A father of three in the United States is facing serious heart problems that have made daily life difficult. He needs complex medical care and ongoing support. His wife is working two jobs to put food on the table and cover the most urgent bills. Together, they’re doing everything they can to keep life steady for their three children, who are in school and kindergarten.
Even with all their efforts, tens of thousands of dollars in bills have accumulated. Your tzedakah will help cover rent, electricity, water, car insurance, and medical expenses their health insurance doesn’t cover.
Our sages teach that we walk in HaShem’s ways by practicing the compassion He shows us. Giving to this family is one way to put that teaching into practice. Each of us can give what we’re able, and together we can take some of the weight off their shoulders.
Please give what you can and share this appeal with someone who may want to help.
May HaShem send the father a refuah sheleimah, a complete healing, and give the whole family strength and relief.
