The Jewish Innovation

Humor is the most effective way to discuss and disseminate knowledge, as proven by, “The Daily Show.” The comedic web series, “The Israeli Show” will be modeled on a similar platform, providing news and current events, interviews with Israel’s cultural stars including movies, television and the arts, as well as behind the scenes coverage with politicians, environmentalists, Religious heads, social activists, business people, entrepreneurs, educators, change-makers, and the real people of Israel. It is a side of Israel you have never seen and she is going to make you laugh, cry, and look damn good while she’s doing it (that’s what she said).

The Impact

The Israel I know is not the one you see in the news. There is culture, people never stand in lines, delicious food, hand gestures, social change, a booming entertainment capital, bad drivers, really bad drivers, and so much more. Also lots of cats. “The Israeli Show,” will show the other side of Israel that most people never get to see. Most importantly it will be in English, which will allow for a much broader audience to tune in. This is good for the Jewish people because it allows the world to see Israel in a more intimate and relatable way. Humor is the ultimate tool for speaking about anything. This show will do that and so much more. It’s time to educate, disseminate and inform the world about the Israel I have come to know, and I am going to do it while making you laugh. Even if that means reporting naked. I would never do that. Or would I? I guess you will have to tune in to find out. But seriously, after founding my English-speaking comedy troupe in Jerusalem, the only one of its kind, I realized that the world has no idea how incredible Israel is. Through comedy sketches and videos, we have been able to discuss Israel in a new and unique way with the international community and allow them to see, connect and understand this country beyond the stereotypes, labels and headlines.

What Will You Do with the Money?

The money will go towards producing the pilot show in order to get it off the ground and running. The funds will help pay for studio time, filming crew, actors, assistants, writing, editing, filming on location, marketing the show, premiere party (for publicity, PR and probably an open bar…not really). I have found in pitching the show, that I have many people that seem interested, but time and time again, they want to see a demo. This is my Catch-22. I need the funds to make the show. But no one will give me the funds without seeing it. This is my chance. This is our chance to give the people what they want.

We will get random Israeli people to thank you and post it online for all your friends to see just how cool you are for giving.

  • AmiChai

We will thank you on the show with your name appearing on the screen. Woo hoo! We will also give you a "Moroccan style" bracha (prayer) that is half-strange and half-made up.

  • Double Mitzvah
    6 claimed

This is really a two for one deal: Write your special note to put in the Kotel and we will put it there for you, film it, and then post it online in our "Kotel Note Segment". We can include your name in the segment or keep it anonymous.

  • Hey Big Spender

Let's meet. That's right, I am buying your friendship. We'll be more than Facebook friends and actually hang out the next time you are in Israel or I am in your hometown. We can talk behind the scenes of the show, Israeli politics (barf), hummus, or whatever you like. Just don't make me talk about Star Wars because I still haven't seen it…I know, I know. I'm taking you on a tour of my favorite places in Jerusalem…and guess what, it involves screaming, fresh fruit and smelly fish.

  • Tear Twerker

Congrats you are an associate producer and your name and new title will appear in the credits! Looks good for your CV, and believe me it's worth a thousand mitzvah points in my book. Speaking of books, I can guarantee you'll be written in the book for next year if you know what I mean. Also, I can't guarantee that, but I can ask nicely to try and make it happen.

  • Mesicah

Congrats you are an Executive Producer and your name and new title will appear in the credits! Along with the credits you will get a behind the scenes look at our filming, interviews and much more.
