A marital expert engages, listens and sizes up clients, then mentally battles within him or herself to create a paradigm designed to effect positive change in the couple’s behavior. Dee Dee Merrick has done just that in a most unique manner; through humor and parody. Her Who Gave Who the Apple? A Woman’s View of Creation is a comical and satirical odyssey lampooning the cornucopia of male and female foibles – taking place in the human and marital training ground of the Garden of Eden. Fusing humor with chutzpah to irreverently rewrite the Biblical account of Creation, the book’s 2,200 words grace 125 pages, adorned by 120 artistic creations, illustrations and bastardizations, antagonizes artists, frazzles feminists and shoves it to chauvinists while burlesquing Michelangelo, Rodin, Venus de Milo, Rafael, Botticelli and Shakespeare, et al.

Yet, this beguiling volume can be easily overlooked as a mere work of humor. Beyond the hysterics, the book is laden with artistic gems and profound, searing messages, gently poking and prodding men and women to better themselves while embracing the institution of marriage with renewed vigor.

Laughter is a Heaven-sent gift; humanity’s great medicine and universal equalizer. Comical wit helps remove walls of separation, breaks down barriers and joins people together. We all know that marriage is challenging, is wrought with difficulties, personality quirks and innumerous personal issues. Prodding couples can be thankless, challenging and difficult. This book utilizes humor to positively affect human interaction and marriage.

Who Gave Who the Apple? A Woman’s View of Creation introduces a new genre of humor to Jewish thinking while simultaneously creating a fantastic and unique educational paradigm. We invite you to partner with us in this amazing effort augmenting Jewish marriage education. This forum and your contribution helps us publicize, print and distribute our book, reaching infinitely more couples than Dee Dee could otherwise. Please accept our heartfelt appreciation and thanks for joining with us to enrich Jewish marriage, intimacy and family life.

More books to follow; illustrated humor and satires as well as serious works enhancing marriage and intimacy.  Enjoy the hors d’oeuvres; pages 87-92.
