As anyone with a sick child will know it is so painful for the family and the child to live with.
Our son has ADD, he was fist diagnosed when he was 5 and now he is 11.
He is on medication which helps him, us and his teachers get through the day, but he can not be medicated 24×7.
When he is good and has feelings for other people he is a beautiful child, understanding caring, loving, friendly, helpful.
When he is in ADD mode he can be physically and verbally abuse, mentally draining, it is very very upsetting and even at times suicidal.
We have taken him to psychologist, psychiatrist physiotherapy, acupuncture and everything else in between. He is part of the scout group and enjoys that a lot, but he screams at us, screams at his sister, won’t listen to anybody, lies in bed when it’s school time, doesn’t help around the house, it’s all about him screaming and even hitting sometimes, it’s just heartbreaking.
We have changed his diet, changed his social environment, we would give our right arm to help our son.
I have recently been investigating other children with behavioural issues and have come across a special cadet camp for him that might just hold the answer. We hope it holds the answer.
We are trying to raise funds to send him to http://www.v4y.com.au/
It provides a 2 week course for troubled kids, run by ex-army personal, it sounds really exciting, getting back to core values.
We hope this will work, and really appricate any help you can give to help our son and our family in any way you can.
Thank you.
