🪬 Help Us Bring ROSH to Life: A Global Jewish Creative Journal in Print
66 Jewish voices. 6 countries. 1 stunning print anthology.
Be part of publishing the first-ever ROSH journal—a sacred collection of Jewish creative expression from around the world.
🧿 What We’re Raising Money For
We are The Pomegranate Tent Collective, a group of 8 Jewish artists, writers, teachers, and creatives. The Pomegranate Tent Collective was formed with the mission to create a platform to elevate Jewish creative voices, with an emphasis on the embodied Jewish experience. Using social media and our website, we continue to teach and platform for Jewish creative voices.
Due to the extreme antisemitism in the art and writing industries, Jewish creatives have found themselves pushed out of traditional publication spaces, especially spaces that focused on transgressive Jewish expression. In May, we opened up submissions for our first publication – ROSH – and we received over 100 submissions from Jewish creatives, across 6 countries. Many of these creatives echoed the same messaging – they were hungry for a place where they could be UNABASHEDLY JEWISH and HUMAN – and they were thrilled to see The Pomegranate Tent Collective offering a space that fit their work.
Our first ever publication, ROSH, grew almost overnight from our initial vision of a small zine-style print journal, to an expansive and one-of-a-kind publication where leading voices in Jewish literature stand beside up-and-coming creatives to showcase the experience of being alive in a Jewish body.
This is not your average literary magazine. It’s a deeply embodied, spiritually alive, and radically inclusive anthology of Jewish creative work—featuring 66 writers, poets from the United States, Israel, England, Canada – and many other countries.
We originally planned to print only 6 contributors, but after the selection process was over – we knew there was no way that would be sufficient. To truly showcase the depth, wisdom, and eroticism of Jewish voices – we knew: we had to find a way to publish them all.
That’s why we’re asking for your help.
🌍 Why It Matters (And Why Now)
In the wake of October 7th, more and more Jews are turning to creative outlets to express their joy, their anguish, their fear, and to find their community among other Jews. Unfortunately, in the wake of October 7th, Jews are also systematically being pushed out of creative communities, and refused by publishing houses SIMPLY FOR BEING JEWISH. Publishers, event planners, venues and collectors alike have created “Zionist Free Zones” when what they really mean is – No Jews Allowed.
ROSH is a response to that. The Pomegranate Tent Collective is INTENTIONALLY creating a place for Zionists, and jews of every din to be unabashedly Jewish in their work, AND receive the recognition they DESERVE.
This journal will be a heritage piece—a tangible, timeless volume that captures this moment in Jewish creative renaissance and transmits it forward. Rosh is bringing the world to come into focus.
In a time when so much is digital and fleeting, and Jews are being pushed out of sight, we’re printing this work on paper that lasts. We are creating an anthology that can be held in your hand, and will serve as testimony to the jews who refuse to be told no.
Because these voices deserve permanence.
✡️ Why Us
The Pomegranate Tent Collective is a Jewishly community of writers, artists, teachers, and ritualists reclaiming the sacred through embodiment, creativity, and eros. Our Permanent Residents come from The USA, England, Israel, and Canada. We are a global gathering of Jews, with diverse backgrounds and observances – but we come together to celebrate embodied Jewish life – because the time is NOW.
We know how to build platforms from scratch—and we know how to center the stories that rarely get told.
We have already accepted and edited 66 phenomenal pieces. Now we need your support to bring them into print.
