Alina, an elderly new immigrant from Russia, was diagnosed with cancer shortly after arriving in Israel. After several rounds of difficult treatments she is worn out and in desperate need of a break, but can’t afford it. You can help Alina and others like her, go on a much needed holiday that will enable them to rest and rejuvenate.
A short break from cancer is not a luxury – it is a necessity that helps the recovery and healing process.
Refanah finds the generous B&B owners throughout Israel that donate the accommodations. We need your help to match more cancer patients with these holidays. We need to provide those like Alina who have no computer and poor Hebrew with hands-on assistance. We need to provide those like Alina with no car with transportation to and from the holiday. We even need to provide those who can’t afford food during the holiday with meals.
The unfortunate reality is that two out of every three cancer patients that turn to Refanah are unable to take advantage of the donated holidays not because of lack of supply but due to their less advantageous circumstances or background.
Refanah needs your help so that those who most need of a holiday will not be turned away due to our lack of resources .Together we will help cancer patients on their road to recovery.
