Wonderful news !
The entire KarmiKingdom team has qualified for the global stage of the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) in Athens!
Our World Scholar’s Cup team is comprised of 20 enthusiastic teenagers, boys and girls, Jews and Druse, from the Gifted Children Special Education project in Karmiel, Israel. They are led by the talented Nimrod Nakdimon, a high school junior himself and two excellent teachers. The WSC mascot is an Alpaca, just to remind all not to take life too seriously.
Our students have won prizes for debating, writing, history and social sciences, as well as overall success in all six subjects tested.
Who is the KarmiKingdom team ?
The team is comprised of 20 enthusiastic young teenagers, boys and girls, Jews and Druse, from the Gifted Children Special Education project in Karmiel, Israel. They are led by the talented Nimrod Nakdimon, a high school junior himself and two excellent teachers.
This year’s journey began at October, with 26 teenagers eager to learn and succeed. They learned how to debate and how to cooperate, and they have done it through peer-learning, pwaa-TED (TED-like lectures) and social activities. On March 12-13, during the Purim holyday, they participated at the local WSC Rehovot round and, as mentioned above, all of them qualified to the global round in Athens. Regretfully, 6 of them chose not to continue, due to personal reasons.

A few weeks ago, we had a 2 days meetup for KarmiKingdom called SemiPwaasover.
What is it?
The semipwaasover is a 2 days event that our karmikingdom organized in Passover break. In the semi pwaasover, we have studied the 6 subjects of the WSC by doing presentations of our pwaated program.
Then we had a few activities, where we shared our opinions and thoughts. After that, for dinner, we had a game, in which we had to find our host’s (Nimrod) house, and we would eat there! After that we had a KAROAKE NIGHT! Then we also slept together after a hard day of working, although we were given the option to stay up for 2 hour socializing and having fun together to get more crystallized. In the next day, we woke up for a morning activity, that was planned by one of our teams. After that we had a few activities, a movie, and chats in which we learned about leadership and coaching. After all that we do mostly social activities and have fun together!
According to the KarmiKingdom scholars, the SemiPwaasover was an amazing idea, and was so much fun!
