OUR MISSION The purpose of our non-profit organization, Helping Israel Fund, is raising money to supply vital non-military items to the brave young men and women who defend the State of Israel in its armed forces. Helping Israel Fund, Inc. is a registered tax exempt charitable organization under section 501c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. OUR BACKGROUND Helping Israel Fund was created by a group of individuals who realized that there is a significant delay between the time that a unit makes a request for items and the time when the soldiers receive them. Many times the soldiers would be relocated before the requested supplies ever reached the base. Recently, the Israel Defense Forces changed its policy regarding donations to units causing even further delays with the delivery of requested items. The partnership that we have with a small group of very reputable charities approved by the Israel Defense Forces allows us to continue to fill the requests within a few days and even overnight in emergency situations. Helping Israel Fund directs donations and the net proceeds from fundraising events to worthy organizations and are designated for projects without any or minimal administrative fees associated with them. The operating expenses of Helping Israel Fund are generously donated by a donor family so that a donor’s dollar works harder and smarter for each individual and which allows all donations to have a greater impact for the soldiers. OUR SUCCESSES Helping Israel Fund has provided units with items such as, but not limited to: water backpacks, winter wear, dri-fit tzizit, mobile synagogues and recreational rooms. We have sponsored meals for lone soldiers and have been able to purchase an ambucycle that is being used by a soldier in consideration of his service. Education is vital to a soldier’s success. We are honored that, to date, we have been able to provide 4 year scholarships to 6 disadvantaged soldiers after completing their dedicated service
