Alon is a 5-year-old autistic boy from Israel. His parent’s are desperate to get him the crucial treatment he needs right now. The brain has a high degree of plasticity until the age of 6. Providing intensive treatment during these early years leads to a higher degree of independence and maximized outcomes. Alon’s parents know the treatment he needs – they just need the funds to implement them. The average monthly income in Israel is about $4700. Most families can barely make their monthly expenses. Parenting a child with autism is extremely difficult. When is comes to  addressing these challenges – parents are largely on their own.  These obstacles can put a great strain on families.  It is known that many people with autism go on to live independent and fulfilling lives. With early intervention,  these children are achieving better outcomes in all aspects of life.
