The Sid Jacobson JCC is proud to be home to the Hammer Baseball Team, a group of talented and dedicated young athletes representing our Long Island community at the JCC Maccabi Games — often called the “Jewish Olympics.” This annual event is the largest organized Jewish youth sports gathering in North America, bringing together thousands of athletes from around the world to celebrate Jewish pride, unity, and perseverance through competition. For our boys, the Maccabi Games are more than a tournament. They are a chance to proudly wear their Jewish identity, build lifelong friendships, and stand shoulder to shoulder with a global community that continues to thrive in the face of adversity. Over the past three years, the Sid Jacobson JCC Hammer Baseball Team has achieved an extraordinary run of success, capturing three consecutive gold medals while remaining undefeated throughout the entire three-year journey. In the process, the Hammer have won 19 consecutive games at the JCC Maccabi Games. That remarkable record is a testament not only to the talent and dedication of our players, but to the culture of teamwork, preparation, sportsmanship, and pride that has been built within this program. The Sid Jacobson JCC has long been a hub for Jewish life, education, culture, and community service.
