Jesse Shaw is a Jewish furniture maker from Brookline, MA. He trained at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport Maine under the guidance of master furniture makers from all over the world. Eight years ago he moved down to Georgia to obtain his Masters in Furniture design at the Savannah College of art and design. Upon graduation, he went on to become the lead furniture designer for Currey & Company a pioneer in home decor. It was during this time he built his first Chuppah for his sister Emily living in Washington DC. He designed it to pack down flat for shipping and easily be assemble upon delivery. He then carved their initials into the top rail, the next year his cousin Arianna asked tto use the chuppah. It was shipped to their Wedding in Connecticut and eventually new names were added to the wedding canopy. Recently Emily and her husband had a wonderful boy named William and one day he and his wife will have their initials etched into the rail This is the goal of Family Chuppah.
