We are raising funds to support the August 2025 intake of the Operational Documentation and Photography Platoon of the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.

These soldiers are combat photographers who accompany combat forces during operations across all sectors, documenting events directly from the field. Their work provides critical visual evidence used by the IDF for international communications, media briefings, and public diplomacy.

Their documentation is used by major international media outlets, governments, and organizations around the world.

Why This Is Needed
Due to the current security situation and the launch of Operation “Roar of the Lion,” the unit shortened the training period for the August ’25 intake in order to deploy them quickly.

At the same time, the entire documentation platoon was placed on full operational readiness across the country. This created a shortage of essential equipment for the new soldiers.

The August ’25 intake consists of six soldiers replacing an entire team of around twenty, and they are expected to operate at a high operational tempo in Judea and Samaria.

What the Funds Will Provide
We are raising ₪6,000 to purchase high-quality LOWA Zephyr MK2 GTX combat boots for the soldiers.

These boots provide:

• Insulation and warmth for cold field conditions
• Waterproof protection through GORE-TEX technology
• Better stability and durability for demanding operational activity

Proper footwear is essential to prevent hypothermia, infections, and injuries during long deployments.

You can see the boots here:

Thank You
These soldiers operate alongside combat units to document events that shape how the world understands what happens on the ground.

Your support helps ensure they have the equipment they need to safely carry out their mission.

Thank you for your support!
