Our Bet-El Community in Madrid is embarking on an exciting journey to create a new home, and we need your help to make it a reality.
We’ve secured a property with incredible potential, but it requires substantial renovations to become the Jewish Center we envision.
Our focus is on remodeling and enhancing the temple, youth and cultural center to transform it into a beautiful and functional space where our members can pray, learn, and connect, and to ensure it becomes a vibrant hub for Jews from around the world who visit Madrid and seek a welcoming community.
Why We Need Your Help Now
Our community has faced significant challenges. The sudden termination of our previous lease left us without a permanent home, forcing us to relocate our sacred Aron HaKodesh, Torot, and Bimah to a temporary location. This disruption underscored the importance of having a stable, secure space where we can continue our religious and cultural activities.
Temple: A Spiritual Sanctuary
Our new property offers us the chance to build a temple that is not just functional but truly inspirational—a spiritual space designed for our liturgical practices. We envision a beautiful, comfortable sanctuary where our community can come together in prayer, reflection, and celebration. This temple will be the heart of our community, providing a sacred space that honors our traditions and enhances our connection to our faith.
Youth Area: Building the Next Generation
This space will be designed for both educational and recreational activities, offering our young members a place where they can learn about their heritage, build lifelong friendships, and grow in a supportive and nurturing environment by connecting with their cultural roots. We aim to create an engaging space that encourages our youth to explore their Jewish identity and become active participants in our community.
Jewish Culture and Zionism Area: Dimensions of Our Identity
Our community is committed to deepening the understanding of our cultural history, our contributions to global culture, and our unwavering support for the existence of the State of Israel. These are fundamental aspects of who we are as Jews today, shaping the essence of our identity. Our new center will allow us to host various activities—lectures, workshops, seminars, and more—designed to enrich and strengthen our Jewish condition.
