WHO WE ARE
As parents of two sons who were badly wounded in battle in Israel, we feel very close to wounded warriors/veterans and their families. Thus, we are motivated to create a project for American and Israeli wounded warriors.
WHAT WE WILL DO
We will provide a delegation of American Purple Heart decorated soldiers the experience of an amazing trip to Israel. On this trip, the heroic soldiers will meet with Israeli soldiers, including those that have been wounded in battle. The American delegation will visit Holy sites in Israel, of various religious denominations. And the decorated American soldiers will visit, among many important places, the Knesset, to provide the Israeli government an example of how to recognize and honor those soldiers injured in battle, as Israel currently does not have such an award as the Purple Heart.
The positive consequences of this trip of American Purple Heart soldiers to Israel are many:
- It will provide the American soldiers an amazing all expenses paid trip to Israel as a reward for their sacrifice to their country. As Israel’s closest ally, it is a debt of gratitude for the help America gives to Israel’s security.
- It will help the American soldiers better understand Israel as a whole and they can return to their communities as good will ambassadors about Israel. The soldiers will visit Israel and leave with first hand knowledge of the beauty, love, and peace of Israel and its people. They will learn about the Israeli army, and will bond with wounded Israeli soldiers as well.
- It will help strengthen the relationship between the American wounded soldiers and their Jewish communities. If the soldiers know that the Jewish community recognizes their service to their country by helping finance their trips, and come back with their knowledge and experience of Israel, it will help create a better appreciation of one another.
- It will help in our goal to establish a similar award in Israel to its’ wounded warriors as the Purple Heart in America, as there is no award currently. By coming to Israel as Purple Heart decorated soldiers, and meeting government and army officials, it will provide as a blueprint to implement a similar recognition program in Israel.
