The Yiddishkayt Initiative (YI), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, is a global force for celebrating and promoting Jewish history, life and culture and their positive, far-reaching impact on the world.
YI will be hosting its inaugural YI Love NY Yiddishfest from December 21-29, 2019 at three prestigious theatre venues in New York City. Over nine days coinciding with Chanukah 2019—multiple Jewish cultural organizations will come together for a curated lineup of theatrical presentations, concerts, film screenings, lectures, panel discussions, and famous personalities in the world of Jewish culture. Tickets for all events and sponsorships are available online at www.yiddishfest.org.
Founded in 2015 by award-winning actor and activist Avi Hoffman and his mother, Professor Miriam Hoffman, a world-renowned scholar of Jewish and Yiddish culture, YI offers a global clearinghouse of Jewish culture and entertainment staffed by experts in both subject matter and production, from performing arts, publishing and education to language, philosophy and literature.
