The Jewish Innovation

The Young Ambassadors Program is a week-long program in New York City to empower young people from different countries and backgrounds around the world ages 14-20 who have been directly impacted by terrorism. Those that participate either have lost a family member in a terrorist attack or been injured themselves. The week consists of special meetings with political & community leaders to raise awareness for victims of terrorism and their families, touring New York City, interacting with other victims of terrorism and therapeutic programming to facilitate healing. The week is all about sharing, healing and empowerment for these young people. Past participating countries include Algeria, Argentina, England, France, Israel, Kenya, Liberia, Northern Ireland, Russia, Spain, Uganda, and the United States.

The Impact

Terrorism is not just one country’s problem, it’s a world problem and we must all come together to combat the hate that terrorism perpetuates. It is important that victims have a voice and that despite everything they have been through, bringing together victims from all over the world whether it be Israel, London or 9/11, is vital in assisting victims to move forward with their lives and see a future. The Young Ambassadors Program shows participants that they are not alone and build a global peer support group where they can depend on others to help them during the hard times. They realize during their short time together that although they come from different backgrounds, cultures and religions, what they have been through bonds them for life. From the week of experiences, they return home stronger, filled with hope and ready to make a difference for others and repair the world – the ultimate tikkun olam. They realize that the future is in their hands and they are stronger together!!!

What Will You Do with the Money?

The money raised will go directly towards funding the week-long Young Ambassadors Program. There are many parts to bringing the program together and all money raised will go towards therapeutic and recreational programs, accommodations, travel expenses, and professional support including trauma specialists and psychologists with expertise in the area of trauma and working with victims of terrorism. Since we are an all-volunteer based organization, funds collected through this campaign will go directly towards the next Young Ambassadors Program.
