02 May 2019 it will be Yom HaZikaron la Shoah ve-la G’vurah or Yom HaShoah -Holocaust Remembrance Day.
The Jewish Work Village Slootdorp Foundation plans to place a memorial stone on that day for each of the 191 young Jewish men and women who were deported from Slootdorp on 20 March 1941 and killed in the camps.
The Memorial stones. (Also often called Stolpersteine, which literally means ‘stumbling stones’) are mini-monuments in memory of the Holocaust: the destruction of European Judaism in the years from January 1933 until the end of the 2nd World War in 1945. The stones are just in the street, included in the street.
The stones for the murdered Jewish youth of the working village of Slootdorp will be placed in a large and dignified ceremony and on the exact location where on March 20, 1941 the 300 Jewish youngsters were placed in front of the house and of which 240 were chosen for direct transport.
