Once upon a time, there was a dinosaur named David.
David loved Shabbat and every week he brought candles, grape juice, challah, and a tiny Torah to his animal friends at the Chanen Preschool so they could celebrate Shabbat together.
David had all kinds of animal friends.
Some were puppies, owlets and giraffes.
Some were bunnies, monkeys, sea lions, and sharks.
Some were butterflies and bumblebees.
David also brought his band, the Shabbam Jam Crew, with him so all his animal friends could sing and dance together with the Torah!
One day, a strange mist appeared and covered the land. Nobody knew what it was or where it came from and all of the animals had to stay home where it was safe. David could no longer celebrate Shabbat with his animal friends, and this made David sad.
“What are we going to do?” David asked the Shabbam Jam Crew.
“I have an idea,” said Cantor Seth, “we should make a magical record album with all of our favorite Shabbat songs and send it to our animal friends. Then they can celebrate Shabbat with us whenever they want!”
“That’s a great idea!” David roared. “I’m going to let all of our animal friends know!”
So, David and the Shabbam Jam Crew recorded the album, which they called “Shabbam Jam!,” and animal friends from all over the land came together to help them do it.
Once the album was finished, they sent it to all of their animal friends at the Chanen Preschool and invited them to a big socially distant release party where they danced and sang all of the magical new songs from the Shabbam Jam! album together.
Their energy was so powerful that it made the mist disappear and the animals were once again able to celebrate Shabbat with David and the Shabbam Jam Crew.
And David was never sad again.
