The Jewish Innovation
Our new show: “SISTERS! The Daughters of Tzelofchad” is due to open January 2016. You will love the show’s messages of bravery, sisterhood and belief. Lively music, uplifting lyrics and talented, dedicated performers make this a show for women and girls of all ages!
Join us in bringing to life this Biblical story of five brave Jewish women. Our show presents the characters in a relatable way, making these heroines come alive to inspire performers and audiences alike in their everyday lives.
The Impact
In addition to Efrat and Gush Etzion, RAISE YOUR SPIRITS has performed in other locations around Israel, including Jerusalem and Ra’anana. In the early years, we performed in Gush Katif. RYS has hosted and advised fledgling theater troupes from the border town of Sderot and elsewhere.
An additional impact of RAISE YOUR SPIRITS is to strengthen the world of women’s musical theater. We give women and girls a voice, an opportunity for self-expression and community building, especially for those who choose to perform only for other women and girls. Performers who join RYS find themselves in a warm, supportive environment that challenges them to dare to put their creative talents on full display.
What Will You Do with the Money?
In order to bring inspiration to women all over Israel, we invite you to join us in raising the costs of:
*Renting the theater for rehearsals and performances
*Scoring the music with a professional composer
*Recording and filming the show in order to spread the show’s message to a wider audience
Each show is an original adaptation of a Biblical story, with original script, lyrics, music and choreography. Meet the team for SISTERS!
