The Health and Community Service Center of Jerusalem is making an appeal on behalf of Naomi and Margaret.
Naomi is a battered mother who was abandoned with 4 children
Naomi –not her real name, is the mother of 4 children. Her husband an alcoholic, mistreated her and then abandoned her and the children two years ago.
She tries to support family by cleaning offices at night. She gets minimal subsidy from Social Welfare services for rent. Naomi has lost many of her teeth and cannot eat properly. She is in constant pain in her mouth. She is still a young 37 and yet her job prospects are bleak.
What Naomi needs most is a reason to smile but she can not access the necessary services. Naomi needs 6 implants plus crowns and bridges.
The dental work is performed at our dental center in Jerusalem at no cost or highly subsidized to Naomi and other battered women refereed to us by the Jerusalem Social Services Department.
Our Smiling for Posterity program helps our indigent grand parents on fixed incomes with no access to expensive and vital dental procedures, which brings me to Margaret. That is not her real name.
Margo’s husband died 3 years ago and she lives alone without family
Margaret is 62. Her husband died 3 years ago. She lives alone without any family. Margaret got an infection in her mouth and has lost her upper teeth. She is unable to eat properly and her mouth hurts her constantly. Her future prospects for a normal life are bleak. The Israel medical system does not cover her dental procedures and without your support she will not have the money. Margo is still young and she desperately needs a reason to smile.
Please give generously so that we can provide Margo and others like her the implants that she needs.
Your donation is not for something that will soon be forgotten, but will be appreciated every time Naomi and Margo look in the mirror and smile.

Where the money will go
We use all of your donations to provide vital dental care to cover Naomi Margo and others in need. Our clinic also provides dental vouchers to the social services department for distribution to indigent families with children.
Give with confidence

HCS provides free and subsidized dental care to needy groups such as battered women, poor large families, new immigrants and the elderly.
HCS operates two centers in Jerusalem. A team of highly skilled and experienced dentists. hygienists, technicians and dental assistants treat thousands of patients each month. Of these, nearly one-third receive free or highly subsidized care.
We hold an important conference every year that addresses better ways to deliver needed inaccessible dental care to needy populations.
Regular external evaluation of the HCS quality care is provided by the Dental Department of the Israel Ministry of Health which certifies and supervises the HCS clinics.
