The Sid Jacobson JCC Hammer Baseball Team is on a mission to make history with a third straight gold medal at the 2026 JCC Maccabi Games in Kansas City but our journey is about far more than baseball. Last year, 14 proud families traveled hundreds of miles to watch their sons compete, celebrate, and bring home gold. At the same time, 14 other families in Israel have spent nearly two years without hearing their children’s voices. We carry their names and stories with us, wearing yellow ribbons as a reminder of hope and unity.

Your support will help us train, travel, and represent the Jewish community with pride on the national stage, proving that these young athletes are not just champions of a game, but ambassadors of strength, faith, and resilience. Together, we can stand tall, compete with heart, and never forget those who cannot be here to cheer alongside us.

SID JACOBSON JCC MACCABI 17U BASEBALL MARK ROSENMAN

The Sid Jacobson JCC is proud to be home to the Hammer Baseball Team, a group of talented and dedicated young athletes representing our Long Island community at the JCC Maccabi Games — often called the “Jewish Olympics.” This annual event is the largest organized Jewish youth sports gathering in North America, bringing together thousands of athletes from around the world to celebrate Jewish pride, unity, and perseverance through competition. For our boys, the Maccabi Games are more than a tournament. They are a chance to proudly wear their Jewish identity, build lifelong friendships, and stand shoulder to shoulder with a global community that continues to thrive in the face of adversity. Over the past two years, the Sid Jacobson JCC Hammer Baseball Team has captured back-to-back gold medals and earned a reputation for excellence both on and off the field. The Sid Jacobson JCC has long been a hub for Jewish life, education, culture, and community service. Supporting this campaign means you’re helping to fund not just a baseball program, but a powerful experience of identity and belonging for young Jewish athletes. Every donation goes directly toward training, travel, uniforms, and participation fees, ensuring every deserving player can take part in this unforgettable journey. Your support makes it possible for these boys to compete, grow, and represent their community with pride, proving once again that we are “More Than Baseball.”

In Hebrew, the number 18 holds special significance. It is represented by the letters Chet (8) and Yud (10), which together spell "Chai" (חי), translating to "life." This number goes beyond its numerical value; it embodies the essence of a meaningful life full of kindness, thoughtfulness, selflessness, and maintaining a good-natured, moral, and ethical stance throughout their lives. Now, let's translate this significance into action for our team. We will have 14 incredible players on our roster, If each player can secure just 1 donation of 18 dollars per day over the course of the fundraiser, we will not only reach but exceed our fundraising goal.
