For 4 years, Kumzits Everywhere has created free Jewish music events where Jews come together from all walks of life to make lifelong friendships and sing their hearts out to Hashem. People who have experienced our Kumzitses tell me all the time how the experience fills a huge void, and for many it has become a need to attend.
There is one problem- There are many out there who are less fortunate and are unable to attend. They may be sick and confined to a hospital bed, have a genetic disability and can’t leave their residence, or perhaps they are experiencing the difficulties of old age. Whatever the hardship, these people need the connection even more than the rest of us, but they get much less of it. I know someone in a nursing home right now and when I think of the amount of time they spend alone sitting on a bed with nothing to do, it makes me really sad.
I’ve said in the past, if Kumzits Everywhere doesn’t bring the kumzits to those who can’t come to us, it will all be a waste. Please help us in sending musicians to the sick and elderly. In many cases they have been forgotten and neglected. Let’s heal their loneliness by showing that we love and care about them.
Each Kumzits costs $300. All this money is paid to the musician(s) to cover their time and travel expenses. The kumzits lasts 1 hour and in many cases may recur on a consistent basis. Our aim for this campaign is to organize 1000 kumzitses.
Thank you for you time and contribution. You have no idea the good you doing.
Sincerely,
Shlomo Mehlman
