Into The Night - Keshet GER will be engaged in some exciting learning in the magnificent city of Berlin, aiming to struggle with traditions and finding ways to bridge between our various identities.
And there is something peculiarly exciting about having a Queer Tikkun in Germany's capital.Rabbi Abraham Yoshua Heschel noted that "We should try to find meaning in the absurdity.”
This is undoubtedly easier said than done. Our scriptures are filled with odd stories and narratives - and if we turn away from the scriptures for a moment and turn toward the present, we see that the absurd continues: We are still here. Despite everything that happened to us.
That contradicts reason. Yet Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heshel challenges us to find meaning in this absurdity. So it comes in handy that we have a tool to do that. And that is what we call the "Midrash": We take a text and find our own narrative, our own meaning and not least our own relationship to this text.
While we should learn and argue for the sake of heaven, we are also obligated to pay workers in time and properly. Hence, we are reaching out to you folks:
In the hope to make this event happening, as well as accessible to as many people as possible. That's why we need your help.
Every penny matters and will be greatly appreciated.
