After dedicating my life to depicting the beauty of Israel and its people for the past 25 years in pictures, I began producing calendars that focus on Israel and Jewish themes, containing my most stunning shots. This year I am determined to launch a brand new concept. A calendar that adds inspirational thoughts and meditations (based on kabbalistic insights) to a new series of photographs.
By owning the calendar, the customer will come away with awe inspiring, unique scenes of Israel, and insights ~ such as how to connect to the spiritual energy of the month. Each month will have one inspirational thought.
Following are a few monthly samples for the Inspirational Photo Art calendar. (Please note: the copyright symbol on the photo is online and will not appear in the calendar)
A photo of the desert in Eilat was chosen for the month of Nisan, when Pesach takes place, because it gives the feeling of what it might have been like for the Jews to walk out of Egypt. My friend and I were hiking in these mountains in Timna Valley, located right outside Eilat, Israel’s southernmost city. I was struck by the quiet, the lack of plants and animals. It was so serene. I could feel what our forefathers might have experienced at Mount Sinai when we received the Torah. This was the closest I could get to Egypt, while still being in Israel.
I was walking around Mea Shearim, one of the most religious neighborhoods in Jerusalem, when I came across these boys. They often don’t want to be photographed, as some say it is a biblical prohibition to have a graven image. They started running away from me. Then I was able to capture this magical image when they thought I wasn’t looking. This photo was chosen to give the feeling of joy, which is the main attribute for the month of Adar, when Purim occurs.
The Blessing of the Cohanim was chosen for the month of Tishrei when we celebrate Sukkot so you can feel like you are receiving the Blessings. When the Kotel plaza gets filled up with tens of thousands of people they climb on rooftops and stairwells to get a chance to see the Cohanim ( in white closest to the Wall). The blessings are amplified with speakerphones so everyone can hear. It is truly a powerful time to be at the Western Wall. This panorama was taken from a rooftop in the Jewish Quarter.
If you are one of those people who don’t use a calendar and you still want to support the cause you can choose an assorted set of Israel Photo Art notecards ($10) or choose any photo from my website ~www.jodisugar.com~ to create a canvas print ($100).
If you are part of an organization then you have the opportunity to personalize the back cover and give them as thank you gifts to your donors. Spread the word about your business. Jewish Day Schools 8th graders sell them as fundraisers for their Israel class trip. If the schools want to personalize the back cover they can order 100 and have their school’s information on the inside back cover as well. They can also sell advertising for the inside and outside back cover to cover their expenses. For example – 9 business card size ads for $100 each pays for 100 calendars.
The calendar measures 11″ x 17″ when open.
Please be sure to put your mailing address in the notes section. You will receive a confirmation email from me.
With blessings for an inspirational year from the holy city of Safed,
