On the evening of 29/08/2019, 20:30,
in Meha She’arim neighborhood at Beit Israel Synagogue,a yeshiva student that makes his living off selling Kosher phones and phone related products for the orthodox sector was brutally attacked by a few Inspectors and a police officer.
this student is a law keeping man, that served in IDF, and was attacked with no reason. These officers, who were initially there to confiscate his products, attacked him, and caused serious physical and psychological damage
the same officer that came to confiscate the products threatened to kill him only because he was orthodox, and then even sprayed an entire container of pepper spray which caused nerve damage and loss of consciousness.
After the violent incident ended, the inspectors and the policeman fled the scene and did not provide or call for first aid, but chose to abandon the yeshiva guy lying on the floor and only the orthodox crowd gathered there came to his aid and called for an ambulance.
The yeshiva guy arrived at the hospital at a state of Cardiac arrest and broken teeth and jaw.
the yeshiva guy retained consciousness at the hospital and was arrested for assault of a policemen and public workers -a misdemeanor that can land you up to 5 years in prison.
Right now, the yeshiva guy is awaiting trial and could go to jail for no reason.
Because of that brutal and heartless act of the city inspectors and the cop, the assaulted yeshiva guy had to hire the services of a 15,000$ lawyer.
The yeshiva guy lost the goods that got corrupted and impounded so he is looking to raise 5,000$ to repurchase goods and get his livelihood back.
The yeshiva guy needed dental work after the inspector broke his teeth. Dental work at Israel costs about 9,000$ and that’s after government insurance subsidy.
The yeshiva guy is asking to raise money not for pity but to make clear that we should put an end to police bullying, especially police violence against the Orthodox sector, by proving his innocence at court ,and justly brining the inspectors and the cop to be judged and punished-after that the people who work at law enforcement will think twice before acting unethically and unmorally and will do their job right.
