Jewishdecorating.com is a comprehensive website completely devoted to Jewish holiday design and crafts! I wanted to create this website because I feel that we are so bombarded with secular and Christian holiday decorations everywhere we go, that I wanted to create a place where we can make amazing and festive Jewish decorations. I grew up celebrating secular holidays, and one of my most favoriate things to do as a kid was put up Halloween and Christmas decorations. Now that I’m an adult, I only observe Jewish holidays, but I am no longer able to decorate on the scale that I used to. I want to change that, I will be created tons of video tutorials and holiday ideas from Hanukkah to Lag B’Omer (I think I may leave out Yom Kippur, but who knows). I also hope to inspire more people to follow mitzvot through Jewish decorating. If you’re surrounded with holiday reminders in your house, you’re more likely to observe the holiday! So many Jews I know only celebrate Hanukkah and Passover and hardly acknowledge the other holidays. I think this is because these holidays aren’t talked about in American secular culture. Maybe, hopefully, if more people start sharing their holiday love with Shavuot garlands and wreaths, they’ll inspire others too to get excited about the holidays!

Jewishdecorating.com is a comprehensive website based around the Jewish holidays. I will be creating video tutorials and I hope to inspire Jews to get more festive about the chagim! I also hope to inspire Jews to take on more holiday observance and mitzvot with the holiday decorations. For example, when you are surrounded with decorations that say “count the omer” you are more likely to want to do so!
