We live in an age where technology is transforming the way we learn, connect and play. A few years ago, I participated in Sukkah City .Sukkah City was an international design competition challenging designers, artists and architects to newly reinterpret sukkah structures while following traditional rules. The contest was put on by Jewish cultural organization Reboot. This year, I wanted to develop something similar to Sukkah City but with a technology spin. I want to develop something unique that I can share with the global Jewish community. Using dynamic and innovative technology, I want to develop the first global tech sukkah. We are going to start with 360 video’s of different sukkah’s around NYC. Instead of decorations in the sukkah we want to give unique experiences. While some part of the project will be based in NY we can develop dynamic content for people to use around the globe. As an early adapter to new technology , I have had the opportunity to evaluate new technology and see how I can enhance storytelling . One of the ideas of Sukkot is inviting strangers into your Sukkah. We are not limited by our geographic location. Using robots, live streaming and interactive technology we can enhance the way we connect to our global Jewish community.
Point of View (POV) and Telepresence experiences allows us to think “out of the box” and create new types of innovative Jewish content.
Through Alienware 17 we are going to be able to display, create and connect to our Jewish roots like never before.
We will continue this project after Sukkot as well. We want to create these types of unique experiences around holidays and Jewish events. This project lends itself to unique opportunities. Succot will be the first step to developing Jewish immersive learning experiences. One of the ways we are looking to capture these unique Jewish experiences is to do 3D /VR mapping of synagogues, museums etc. Using Matterport we can create dynamic experiences for people to walk through while standing in a sukkah or on our traveling exhibition. See how the Holocaust Center in Tuscan used this dynamic tech . One of the things we are looking to do is take Matterport to Israel and capture different sites and museums around Israel
This is a totally new way to look at engagement. During and after Sukkot I would like use this project as fundraiser for to raise money for those who are suffering from the recent hurricanes. By sourcing and developing content we can educate and raise money for this important cause.
Join me in making this project a reality. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
