In 1955 Hillel Foundation was founded by Mr Philip Morris Klutznick and Saul Eugene Joftes, respectively. President of B’nai B’rith, and Director of the Office of International Affairs of B’nai B’rith, based in the United States.
The purpose of the Foundation is the promotion of Hillel Jewish religious, cultural and national values, particularly with regard to students at schools of higher education.
Because of the emphasis on students, Foundation Hilllel the management of the Jewish student in Delft (Beth Stoedentim) undertaken.
Currently seven Jewish students live in the house aged 18 to 27 years. The house as a strong jewish and Israeli identity. There is an active student cafeteria, where one meets and eats kosher meals.
Students organize every Hanukkah, Purim and Yom Ha’atzmaut a party for Jewish students in Delft and surroundings.
On behalf of the students the Hillel house we are trying to gather 500 euros for the yearly Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration in the garden of the residence.
