The Jewish Innovation
I am offering you an opportunity to help launch an exciting new project called the Rabbi Teva Video Project. The goal of the project is to produce a top-quality video which uses scientific concepts to help children gain a deeper appreciation of Hashem’s wisdom and benevolence. The video will show how Hashem designed the world with plan and purpose – focusing on plant life processes. These processes will be explained clearly and concisely with state of the art multimedia aids.3-D animation and comedy will sweeten the mix – thus facilitating absorption by young minds. You can help make this happen by contributing any amount or by spreading the word from person to person or with social media.
The Impact
Why is this project vital? Because many children need to develop a deep meaningful relationship with Hashem. How do we get deeper? The Torah begins with an account of Creation because the recognition of Hashem through His works is the foundation of Judaism. Modern science is constantly revealing new vistas of the complexity of the Divine plan inherent in the natural world. Shouldn’t we harness that power to bring meaning into our children’s religious lives?
The script has been reviewed and approved by Torah U’Mesorah – a national leader in Jewish education as well as secular educators and scientists. Several Day School principals who reviewed the script voiced their enthusiasm at the value of this project in getting across the concept of developing a relationship with the infinitely wise and benevolent Hashem. The project also has a fringe benefit of providing children with a “kosher” source for science
What Will You Do with the Money?
The money will be used to hire a professional studio to produce the film. The script is already completed. Once the film is produced, it will be shown to Jewish kids all over! The video will then be distributed to Day Schools throughout the country through partnering national organizations such as Torah UMesorah and COJDS. Why is this project such a good investment?
1. A video approved for showing at schools throughout the nation can have an outsized impact for a relatively small outlay.
2. The project has potential to become a larger self-sufficient program because proceeds from consumer sales of the video will be channeled into future videos.
3. The project is shovel-ready. The script is all ready and approved by Torah U’Mesorah. All that remains to be done is to avail ourselves of the services of a professional studio. Kol-Rom studios of Baltimore – famous for defining the cutting edge of Jewish video – have been engaged.
