Belgian Friends of Israel is organising a significant event in Brussels on Tuesday September 24 2019.
It is a conference entitled ‘Israel – Faces of Diversity’ where four Israelis from different backgrounds – Jewish, Aramaean Christian, Arab Muslim and Druze – will explain why they are committed Zionists. They will counter the apartheid myth by showing that coexistence is alive and flourishing in Israel.
The goal is to recalibrate public, political and civic opinion in Brussels (the antisemitic capital of Europe – link here) in favour of Israel thereby increasing support for the only western-style democracy in the middle east. Brussels is a key battleground for the BDS, given that it is the home of the European Union.
We have raised enough money to pay for the prestigious venue in central Brussels, cover flights and accommodation, and pay speaker fees.
We would like to have a VIP reception before the event, to which will be invited senior politicians, leading civic figures, prominent academics and media influencers, together with religious leaders (in particular muslims). It is for this that we ask you for financial support.
The reception would include stalls and displays showcasing Israel’s remarkable contributions to science, technology, agriculture, arts, education and research and ecology, as well as highlighting its democratic achievements.
Members of the European Parliament, union and business leaders, journalists and civic dignitaries are more likely to come if they receive quality hospitality beforehand.
We are aiming to cater for 100 VIP guests, @ $75 per head (ie a total of $7,500)
This figure includes kosher food and drink, decorations, displays, information packs/small promo gifts, security and insurance.
We need your help. Thank you.
