Looking on the great challenges ahead of us, we are now raising funds for a major event that will bring together tens of parliamentary assistants from around the world in order to experience the Israeli reality first-hand and allow them to develop a more educated opinion about the challenges Israeli democracy is faced with. The conference, which will take place in August 2015, will serve as a unique opportunity for participants to learn about Israel and have an open discussion about the core issues of Israeli policy. The conference will include lectures by public officials, workshops, strategic tours and encounters with Israeli contemporaries. Experiencing the Israeli reality first-hand will allow these key people to develop a more educated opinion about the challenges Israeli democracy is faced with.
The Impact
Unlike their counterparts in North America, European parliamentary assistants are not frequently offered a visit to Israel. At a time in which anti-Israeli trends are increasing among European countries, reflected by economic sanctions, academic boycotts and deterioration in diplomatic relations, we believe that CouncIL will be able to carry a powerful and valuable message to counter the misconceptions that are leading these trends.
Furthermore, this is an opportunity to create new relationships with the next generation of European leaders and show a comprehensive reflection of Israel that can have significant affect on their perceptions and future decision making processes.
What Will You Do with the Money?
The approx. break down of the money is:
Accommodations – 5670$
Food & Beverages – 3945$
Transportation – throughout the conference the participants will visit various places around Israel, thus we must have constant means of transportation – that will cost – 1400$
In addition we are operating through different channels to raise money for the rest of our expenses.
Any additional funding will help us enrich the conference with visits to various sites across the country.
