The Jewish Innovation

Israel is incessantly faced with a threat that no sovereign nation in the world community constantly deals with: justifying its right to exist. As recent events have led to dramatic increases in Anti-Semitic and Anti-Israel sentiment, it is critical to strategically address the delegitimization of Israel, most especially among the younger generations, which have been the focus of the anti-Israel movements.

In late 2014 a fellowship called CLIC was created to showcase Israel’s multifaceted and dynamic society, which continues to positively impact the rest of the world in nearly every field and industry. A collective made up of doctors, lawyers, engineers, educators, business professionals and more have been utilizing communication and relationship building to promote tolerance, democracy, and shared values.

CLIC fellows represent different minority communities within Israel, including Muslim, Christian, Bedouin, Druze, Circassian and more. Jewish fellows represent the Ethiopian, European, North American, North African, Russian, and “Tsabar” communities.

The Impact

“BDS [Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions] is much more than economic; it’s about changing the discourse around Israel. We [the BDS movement] have managed to widely isolate Jewish groups and supporting groups… It’s not about an economic victory; it’s about a victory on the spirit” – Email sent by the BDS movement to its members (April 2015)

World opinion on Israel (and subsequently the Jewish nation) is changing, requiring strategic, long term solutions to successfully overcome the increasing challenges that lie ahead. We need to make an effort to reach out to different groups, influencers, and young leaders on campuses and in the community in general; to create coalitions and partnerships that will promote tolerance, democracy and stand up for shared values.

CLIC has successfully proved its concept in Canada, and is currently focused on sending a delegation to the United States.

What Will You Do with the Money?

In order for us to send a delegation to the United States, we need 10 donors to contribute $5,000 each. As a fellowship of young leaders, we believe that it is not enough to simply rely on big donors, and we’d like to take a more active role in reaching our ultimate goal ($50,000). With your help and support we hope to raise at least $5,000.

The money that we raise will bring us one step closer to our milestone! The sooner we raise the money the better; it will provide the fellows with enough time to research and canvass strategic locations, while reaching out to organizations, groups, and people of interest in order to jointly collaborate on the coordination of meetups and events that will bring diversified and dedicated young leaders together.

Together, with your help, we are seeking to raise awareness and support in reaching our goal of bringing CLIC to the United States.

CLIC - Connecting Leaders in Communities

CLIC places an emphasis on building bridges and relationships that will benefit intersocietal cooperation, beginning at the young leadership level. In presenting a new model of cross-cultural leadership, collaboration, and innovation, our fellows are committed to engaging diverse communities and groups while cultivating opportunities through emphasizing mutual understanding. It is our belief that learning from our peers, and their experiences, enables us to learn more about ourselves and therefore serves as a catalyst for positive change.
