We are raising money to operate and promote a new social group for young professionals in LA called Chai House. Every year Jews are becoming less observant and are intermarrying at higher rates. And even more in LA than in other cities in the US. This starts with the college & young professional demographic that Chai House targets. At Chai House we pride ourselves on inclusion for Jews of any denomination with the goal of connecting our members both with their religion and with Jews of the opposite sex. Unlike other Jewish social groups, Chai House hosts incredible events weekly and have attracted hundreds of members in only 2 months running. Our quality events are the driving force behind acquiring new members and keeping them involved. Events have included: weekly bonfire talk with Rabbi Mentz, dance & workout events, Casino Night raising money for the IDF, Chai House Bar Mitzvah, dating series, Chai House Coachella festival and many more. We have a proven method of attracting our demographic through these events and giving them a sense of Jewish community, without being overbearing. At this point we have more membership applications than we can handle due to budget constraints. We are raising money to be able to open our group to more members, continue to produce great events (which have been mostly paid out of pocket thus far) and further promote Jewish learning and marriage in LA.
