Our only stained glass window was damaged soon after our current building was opened in 1954 (a reminder of a time when Jews were not so welcome in our now multicultural East London). So its repair is long over due.

We have identified a local artisan who is able to restore the window, now all we need are the funds to make this happen.

Leytonstone and Wanstead Synagogue is a reviving, growing community. Like so many East London Synagogues, our community was seen as unviable and was faced with closure just two years ago. Since then we have been working to rebuild our Minyan and now hold regular Shabbat services, Friday night meals and an educational programme.

We are also working on renovating our building, including fixing the roof and restoring the interior. We want to make sure that we look open for business and we are determined to fixed the only external sign that shows we are a synagogue, our Stained Glass Window.
