When I was a sophomore, my sister told me about the Israel Student Association. At first I was hesitant, unsure that I could be a leader on campus so early in college. I felt I had some obligation to support Israel on campus because I was born there and come from a family of Israelis!

And here I am, President of the Israel Student Association! Being a leader of the Israel community has taught me how to listen to many different perspectives, how to celebrate my culture, and how to share Israel with people who have never been there before.

Every year, Queens College students gather on “The Quad” to celebrate Israel freely and openly. This happens, year after year, thanks to your help. We hope Israelfest 2018 will be the biggest yet! To make this happen, we need to collect 70 donations for Israel’s 70th birthday and raise $2520.00! (70 gifts of $36).

Students gain so much from the Israel community on campus, whether Jewish or not. The Jewish students on campus have an outlet to express their support for Israel and the non-Jewish students see a side of Israel they would not otherwise see. Our campus would not be the same without Israel Student Association and its most important supporter, QC Hillel. 

Together we can make Israelfest 2018 the BIGGEST ever. I hope you’ll help us!
