THE JEWISH INNOVATION

After unsuccessfully trying to find a “Jewish laws and customs” book suitable for Jewish classrooms and families, Sholom Morgan has authored the ”Have You been Jewish Today?” series of four books for adults and children. Each book is fully illustrated and written for the intended audience.  They contain a wealth of information and a hands-on approach on how to lead an authentic Jewish life.

THE OBJECTIVE

These inspiring books are intended to be used by individuals, families, in classrooms, JCC’s, libraries, synagogues, temples, and places where Jews congregate.  They are intended to strengthen Jewish observance.

WHAT WILL YOUR DONATIONS BE USED FOR?

The cost of publishing any book is enormous.  Publishing and marketing four books is four times enormous! Each donation will be used to offset the costs of editing, proofreading, layout, publishing and marketing these extremely important and timely books.  This is a unique opportunity for you to participate in the important ‘mitzva’ (Biblical commandment) of ‘harbatzat hatorah,’ spreading the knowledge (or awareness) of the Torah.  Please join us in ensuring the successful publishing and marketing of these books which educate the masses about authentic Judaism and are vital to the survival of the Jewish people.

I have been a ‘mechanech’ (Jewish studies teacher) for more than 50 years. In that span I have taught children of all ages as well as adults Judaic subjects and the Jewish way of life. One day, I wanted to purchase a book which would elaborate on the Jewish rituals and Jewish human relations 'mitzvot' (biblical commandments) of the Jewish faith for the students in my classes. After searching the Internet and many Jewish bookstores, it occurred to me that there was a dearth of books on these subjects for children or adults. Having studied in ‘yeshivot’ (Jewish schools) for many years, and using my skills as a journalist for more than 40 years and extensive research, I decided to create my own books and I distributed sample copies for the children and adults in my classes to gague their reaction to them. In addition to getting great reviews, the groups helped me make needed corrections. Thus, I became the author of four well-written and inspiring books for children and adults which discuss the rituals and social aspects of Judaism in detail as well as the Jewish holidays.  Each book was carefully researched and checked for accuracy by prominent rabbis. I am eternally grateful to G-d for giving me the strength and wisdom to successfully combine my passions for writing, teaching and studying Jewish subjects into books which enable readers to identify with and practice their 3,300-year-old faith.
