More about Ellie:
Music and Judaism have always been huge parts of Ellie’s life. She was surrounded by the Los Angeles Jewish community while growing up, attending Jewish schools and camps, and has since found a special music niche in the Nashville Jewish community where she songleads and performs as a cantorial soloist. Ellie has also spent the last four years in the songwriting world of Nashville, but this is the first time she has ventured into Jewish music.
What is a social action album?
My Jewish faith, my love for social justice and my belief that music creates change and community have combined to become this album. There are many prayers and customs in Judaism that revolve around social justice, and I believe it is important that we emphasize that in the music of our synagogues and summer camps.
Where does the money go?
Making an album is an expensive endeavor! Funds will go to musicians, studio time and mixing and mastering. The album is being produced by Josh Goldberg, another contemporary Jewish musician, and will be recorded in Los Angeles. Any money raised over my goal will go to costs like album artwork and promoting the album.
