Bayis Lepleitos – a home for orphaned and homeless girls in Yerushalaim
Bayis Lepleitos – Founded in 1945 in Yerushalaim by Rabbi Naftali Rosenfeld to accommodate the stream of orphaned and homeless girls emanating from the European holocaust, with a new home to provide these lost souls with physical and emotional as well as Jewish support and nourishment. But more than all, with boundless love and affection. Rabbi Rosenfeld started with 24 girls.
Today, Bayis Lepleitos is known all over the world for the accomplishments they have achieved, and the thousands of Heimish Jewish homes which have been built by the girls who grew up in, and graduated from and were married by, Bayis Lepleitos. Today is home to the incredible number of 412 girls who are either orphaned or come from very poor or broken homes.
Continuing on the path that was created by Rabbi Rosenfeld, each and every girl is provided an upbringing full of affection, emotional and physical support; from a hug to entire wardrobe to get married, including the wedding dress.
Preparing our HOME for our family of 412 girls
Every Jewish home is buzzing with Yom Tov preparations. The cleaning, the buying new stuff, buying new clothes, matzohs, wine, moroir, charoses, etc. etc. etc. Every Jewish home is bubbling with joyous mitzvah activities.
Now take this feverish Mitzvah activity and multiply it 412 times.
Just as every parent does to their sons and daughters, we do with our daughters. They get the exact individual treatment as the girls in your family. As you so well know, that means choosing dresses, shoes, underwear, hair ornaments and the goodies that go along with being a Jewish girl before Yom Tov.
Now take this busy dazzling shopping spree and multiply it 412 times.
The COST of preparing 412 girls for Yom Tov
You don’t need us to tell you the cost of outfitting a girl for Yom Tov. All we are asking is, think of our task to prepare our family for Yom Tov. We cannot accomplish this only if Acheinu Bnei Yisroel adopt members of our family as your guest for Yom Tov. We need you to share the cost of either a dress, a pair of shoes and other clothing. Or even better; invite an orphan to your Seder, or invite her for the entire Yom Tov of Pesach.
Imagine sitting at your Seder table surrounded by your family, while at the same time an orphan in Yerushalaim is enjoying the same joyous and holy occasion at a Seder made possible by a generous Yid from across the ocean.
Your generous contribution will bring a whole new meaning to
