You can give the gift of health!
With your help, we’re raising $20,000 in 20 days to provide fresh food to families who need it most.
1 in 6 San Diegans—over half a million—are food insecure. The number is even higher among children: one in five local kids don’t have enough food for an active, healthy life.
One customer at our pay-what-you-can Farm Stand said,
“I got sick about a year ago and had to close my three businesses because I wasn’t able to keep up with them. I have been struggling so much this past year—having this food is such a blessing.”
Another customer shared,
“Our family gets $16 a month on an EBT card because I have a part-time job. It’s not enough to afford healthy food.”
This is the story of families around San Diego County. For too many, their income doesn’t meet the high cost of living. Fresh food is a luxury they can’t afford, so instead they subsist on cheap, unhealthy food.
This holiday season, you can change that story for 400 families.
Your gift provides families with farm-fresh veggies every week for a month. And until December 31st, your gift goes twice as far! Thanks to an anonymous donor, every gift will be doubled.
Nourish your neighbors this holiday season. Let’s give 400 families a ‘fresh’ start!
About Coastal Roots Farm
At Coastal Roots Farm, we believe that a farm should feed anyone who’s hungry. Since 2014, we have produced organic, sustainably-grown food to share with the community. Guided by Jewish agricultural traditions and values, we donate the majority of our harvest—approximately 85,000 pounds of fresh produce since inception—to local families who lack access to healthy food.
