Keeping kosher has been more and more difficult over the years due to the decline of the economic situation and the high price of kosher food.
With this in mind in 2013, we established Roosevelt Community 4 U (501-C3), which became the largest Kosher Food Bank in New Jersey; we serve food pantries, Jewish institutions and the less fortunate in the community.
We offer a variety of essential items at no charge to patrons in need .
In addition to our day to day activity, In the past two years, Community 4 U has launched the outreach project, which consists of a delivery of a food basket full of goodies before the holidays to families and lonely people. This project is directed mainly to the lonely people and the less fortunate in the community. The purpose of it is to bring a sense of belonging and caring for every jew in general and the lonely people in particularly.
As the economic situation is declining and expenses are climbing more people are forced to turn to a food bank to alleviate the cost of living. Also considering that majority of food banks are caring non-kosher food items and leave the Jewish population with no alternative. Therefore the demand for our day to day and our holiday food basket is growing.
We located in a high Jewish density area, and we serve an increasing number of people.
Therefore we need the acquisition of a truck to make it possible.
